David Seyler

David Seyler was born July 31, 1917 in Dayton, Kentucky. At the age of 13 he began studying art in earnest, first at the Cincinnati Art Academy, then the University of Chicago, and also the Chicago Art Institute. David worked at Rookwood Pottery during the summers of 1934 through 1939 as an unpaid intern. During his time he sculpted many of the contemporary shapes produced as well as executing under-slip decorating. Collector interest in his pieces is consider below average.
