Cambridge Pottery Planter with Palms (Shape 225) 1895-1917

Cambridge Pottery was made in Cambridge, Ohio, from about 1895 until World War I. The factory made brown glazed decorated artwares with a variety of marks, including an acorn, the name Cambridge, the name Oakwood, or the name Terrhea. Cambridge Pottery's artwares include ashtrays, mugs, pitchers, teapots, vases, and tiles. Cambridge is one of the minor art pottery companies and because they worked only about twenty years, there is not much to be found.
This is a rare find! This is beautifully decorated with two palm fronds: one in green and one in orange. Although they are lightly painted, they are very well executed. Perfect for a florida room. Authentic and signed on the bottom.
Wonderful planter in that it is undamaged, no chips, no cracks, a couple of minor scratches to glaze. Very very minor underglaze crazing on this wonderful pot. It may appear more pronounced due to the macro lens used for the photography. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. This item was inspected with a Mil-spec UVA (365NM) and UVC (254NM) high intensity ultra-violet light and no evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections.
