Muncie Pottery started production of art pottery in 1919 as the Muncie Clay Products Company. Muncie Pottery started as a subsidiary of the German-American Clay Company. Muncie Pottery like so many of the other American art pottery companies closed its doors as a victim of the depression in 1939.
This is a beautiful Gloss Black Muncie Clover Bowl that is 8 3/4 inches wide. This high gloss glaze looks great on this interesting shaped bowl. Wonderful arts and crafts example.
Exceptional bowl in that it has no chips, no cracks, no scratches to glaze. Very minimal crazing. Any imperfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. No evidence of repair or modification was detected. The white spots are studio light reflections.
